
Dr. MaryKate Morse is a beloved teacher, author, and leader dedicated to helping individuals on the front lines of ministry find transformation. As a former Executive Dean of Portland Seminary at George Fox University, MaryKate has spent years as a professor of leadership and spiritual formation, exploring the critical intersection of effective leadership and spiritual growth. Her doctorate from Gonzaga University focused on the characteristics of renewal leadership as modeled by Jesus—a theme she continues to delve into through her speaking and writing.
MaryKate’s life has been a journey of diverse experiences: from growing up in an Air Force family to serving with her husband, Randy, and their small children among the Aymará Indians in the breathtaking Andes Mountains of Bolivia and Peru. After earning her doctorate at Gonzaga University, she planted two churches and has served in various leadership roles, including Seminary Executive Dean and University Director of Strategic Planning. She has traveled extensively as a retreat speaker, resourcing church leaders for effective lives and ministries across India, Southeast Asia, Africa, and the UK.
She is the author of notable titles such as Making Room for Leadership, A Guidebook to Prayer, and Lifelong Leadership. Today, MaryKate continues to serve as a speaker and retreat leader, spiritual director, leadership mentor, and coach. Married to Randy, she is a proud mother of three adult children and a grandmother to six grandchildren, along with a little Aussie named Ivy. When not working, you can find her hiking, reading, and exploring new places with her family.
