Dr. MaryKate Morse is a beloved teacher, author, and leader dedicated to helping people on the front lines of ministry find transformation.
A former Executive Dean of Portland Seminary at George Fox University, MaryKate spent years as a professor of leadership and spiritual formation, where she explored the critical intersection of spiritual formation and effective leadership. Her doctorate from Gonzaga University focused on the characteristics of renewal leadership as modeled by Jesus—a theme she continues to explore through her speaking and writing.
MaryKate’s life has been a journey of diverse experiences: from growing up in an Air Force family to serving with her husband, Randy, and small children among the Aymará Indians in the Andes Mountains of Bolivia and Peru. After earning a doctorate at Gonzaga University, she planted two churches and served in numerous leadership roles, including Seminary Executive Dean and University Director of Strategic Planning. She has traveled broadly as a retreat speaker resourcing church leaders for effective lives and ministries in India, SE Asia, Africa, and the UK.
She is the author of titles like Making Room for Leadership, A Guidebook to Prayer, and Lifelong Leadership. Today, MaryKate continues to serve as a speaker and retreat leader, spiritual director, leadership mentor, and coach. She is married to Randy, has three adult children, six grandchildren, and a little Aussie named Ivy. When she’s not working, you can find her hiking, reading, and exploring new places with her family.
